- HTC

NEW DELHI: Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman has called off planned visits to India and Pakistan this month, people familiar with the matter said on Saturday.

The visits had not been formally announced by Saudi Arabia and the reason for the trips being put off could not immediately be ascertained. The crown prince, popularly known as MBS, was expected to make a brief visit to India on November 14 before travelling to Bali in Indonesia for the G20 Summit. The visit was to have focused on the fallout of the Ukraine conflict, especially on energy security, and bilateral trade and investments.

While there had been no official word from India and Saudi Arabia on the planned visit to New Delhi, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had publicly said that the Saudi leader was expected in Islamabad later this month.
