ONE DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT NEAR TIS HAZARI COMPLEX
NEW DELHI: An autorickshaw driver who was ferrying a passenger in north Delhi on Sunday morning died when a DTC bus hit his vehicle outside the Tis Hazari court complex.
The bus driver, who was arrested, told police he had suffered an epileptic fit at the time of the incident and lost control of the vehicle. Police said the autorickshaw passenger suffered minor injuries,
Deputy commissioner of police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi said the police control room received information about the accident at 10.57am.
“We found that a DTC bus coming from the direction of Baraf Khana Chowk on the wrong carriageway hit an autorickshaw coming from the ISBT side. We also found that the bus driver had suffered some type of seizure (epileptic fit) due to which he lost control of the bus. The bus veered onto the wrong carriageway and hit the autorickshaw,” DCP Kalsi said.
