AYODHYA MOSQUE TO BE READY IN A YEAR AFTER MAP APPROVAL: TRUST
LUCKNOW: Construction of the Ayodhya mosque will be finished in one year after the map is approved by the local development authority, Indo-islamic Cultural Foundation Trust secretary Athar Hussain said on Sunday.
Hussain told reporters that construction of associated structures — a hospital, a community kitchen, a museum, a library and a research centre in Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah Complex — would, however, take at least three more years.
“We hope to get the map passed by the Ayodhya Development Authority soon. Because it would be small in size, it will be completed in just one year, however, the trust will start the construction of all proposed structures simultaneously,” he said.
In its 2019 judgment in the Ram Janmabhoomi-babri Masjid case, the Supreme Court had ordered the construction of a Ram temple on the 2.77-acre plot where Babri Masjid once stood, and directed that five acres be allotted for building a mosque elsewhere in the district.
“Presently, we are also raising funds for the construction of the mosque and other structures,” Hussain said on Sunday.
