Gold rush continues for Indian shooters
NEW DELHI: Shiva Narwal took the men’s 10m air pistol gold while Sagar Dangi bagged the junior men’s gold as India swept the pistol events at the ongoing Asian Airgun Championship in Daegu, Korea on Tuesday.
The men’s and women’s youth teams also won their respective competitions to make it another successful day for India, taking the gold tally to 17.
Up against experienced Korean Park Daehun in the men’s air pistol final, Shiva held his nerve to eke out a 17-13 victory. The Indian had also edged Park in the ranking round, topping the stage with 253.7 points. The Korean was next with 250.2.
India’s Vijayveer Sidhu took bronze in the final. In the junior men’s air pistol, it was a 1-2 finish for India, as Sagar Dangi overcame Samrat Rana 17-13 to claim gold.
