QATAR BANS BEER TWO DAYS BEFORE WORLD CUP STARTS
DOHA: Qatar has banned the sale of alcohol within FIFA World Cup stadium grounds, dramatically reversing a decision to allow Anheuser-busch Inbev NV to sell Budweiser beer just two days before the mega sporting event kicks off on Sunday. Confirming the move, FIFA said the decision was taken following “discussions” with the World Cup hosts, an Islamic state which severely restricts alcohol consumption. It added that alcohol will be allowed in fan zones and not within stadiums.
