Int’l film festival kicks off, Spanish director honoured

- 9-DAY FESTIVAL IN GOA The 53rd edition of the nine-day Internatio­nal Film Festival of

India (IFFI) kickstarte­d in Goa on Sunday with film personalit­ies including Ajay Devgn, Kartik Aaryan, Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Suniel Shetty, Varun Dhawan, and Sara Ali Khan in attendance at the opening ceremony. Legendary Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura was honoured with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievemen­t Award at the festival. Union minister Anurag Thakur said the government aims to establish IFFI as the one-stop destinatio­n for content creation, filmmaking and shooting. The festival runs till November 28.
