AKHILESH, SHIVPAL SHARE STAGE AT RALLY IN SAIFAI
KANPUR: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday shared stage with his uncle and Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) founder Shivpal Yadav during a rally in Saifai for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll.
The bypoll was necessitated by the death of SP founder and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“People say there are dooriyan (distance). Never was there any distance between uncle and nephew. The differences were in politics.... I am happy that today, they have also come to an end,” Akhilesh said.
Shivpal also openly campaigned for the party’s candidate, Dimple Yadav.
“Whenever I visited my constituency people said only one thing — unite and you can defeat BJP. So we have become one today,” he added.
