UP CM makes pitch to investors in $1tn push

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday called on global business leaders to invest in the state and said that his government is aiming to take the state’s economy to the $1 trillion mark in the next five years.

Speaking at the curtain raiser event for the Global Investors’ Summit 2023 (GIS 2023), Adityanath said Netherland­s, Denmark, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Mauritius are partner nations for the event.

“We have set a goal of taking the state’s economy to the $1 trillion mark in five years. This will also help in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of making India a $5 trillion economy,” he said in New Delhi.

GIS 2023 is proposed to be held in Lucknow on February 10-12 next year. Adityanath said the state government aims to attract investment­s worth ₹10 lakh crore at the event.

Adityanath also launched the logo for GIS-2023 along with two portals for online monitoring and tracking of the Mous expected to be inked during the GIS 2023 event.
