NEW DELHI: Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, will campaign for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the Capital and deliver the CM’S message, AAP Delhi unit convener Gopal Rai said on Thursday.

“From April 27, the next phase of our election campaign will begin. Sunita Kejriwal will convey the CM’S message to the people, and the entire party will use his ideas to fight against the dictatorial BJP government at the Centre. The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s language has changed after the first phase of elections, it is clear that the people have given a message to the BJP signalling its loss. INDIA bloc candidates will defeat BJP candidates on all the seven seats,” Rai said at a press conference at the party headquarters.

“The ongoing election campaign will be further intensified. On May 25, we will be able to reply to the dictatorial government through the votes of the people of Delhi,” he said.

The Lok Sabha polls in Delhi are scheduled to be held on May 25.

Rai said the finer details of Sunita Kejriwal’s proposed campaigns have not been finalised yet. Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, however, said she will begin campaigning from Friday.

Since the chief minister’s arrest, Sunita Kejriwal has been active on the political front. However, her role has been limited to conveying the chief minister’s messages from the jail to the party.

On April 21, she attended the INDIA bloc meeting in Ranchi, and participated in the Opposition grouping’s rally at Ramlila Maidan in the Capital on March 31 to protest against the arrest of Kejriwal.

The AAP is contesting four of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in alliance with Congress, which is contesting the remaining three seats.

On April 8, about three weeks after the CM’S arrest, the AAP relaunched its Lok Sabha election campaign titled, “Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se”,

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said the AAP is turning out to be a familyrun party.

“The AAP was established by volunteers. The fruits of hard work of thousands of volunteers is now being enjoyed by the Kejriwal family. The people are watching everything ,” he said.
