- Allahabad.htdesk@hindustantimes.com

Candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category will have to pay lesser fee than the general and the OBC category candidates for applying to take part in the recruitment of around 17,000 trained graduates (TGT) and post-graduate (PGT), vacancy for which is expected to be advertised in October for appointment in over 4500 government-aided secondary schools of the state.

The proposal for determination of application fees sent by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) has been approved by the state government, said officials requesting anonymity.

For this recruitment, the EWS category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 400 and Rs 600 for TGT and PGT posts, respectively. Whereas candidates of General and OBC category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 700 for both these posts, they add.

The fee of Rs 600 will be charged from applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Rs 200 from candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST). Disabled candidates will be charged half the fee, they added.

In an order issued by special secretary Jai Shankar Dube to the UPSESSB on August 21, the fees of EWS have been approved.

It is noteworthy that it is after a gap of four years that UPSESSB will be going to apply for teachers’ recruitment and for the first time, the candidates of EWS category will get the benefit of 10 percent reservation. This time the application of more than 10 lakh candidates is being expected.

The candidates of EWS category, however, will not get any fee waiver for applying for the post of institution head (principal). For General, OBC and EWS category applicants will have to pay a fee of Rs 1200 each while SC candidates will have to pay 600 and ST candidates will have to shell out Rs 300 for applying for applying for the post of principal.
