LEADERS AT MATHURA MAHAPANCHAYAT SLAM BJP
Leaders who gathered on Monday for the mahapanchayat in Mathura to condemn the attack on Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) vice-president Jayant Chaudhary announced a campaign against the BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh as well as at the centre.
They also spoke against the farm laws introduced by the centre and dubbed the BJP as ‘antifarmer’. The anti-BJP campaign, they said, would be based on the ideology of late Chaudhary Charan Singh.
The leaders including former Akali Dal MP Jagmeet Singh Brar, former MP and Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav, INLD leader Abhay Chautala who attended the mahapanchayat slammed the government for the lathicharge on Jayant Chaudhary during his visit to Boolgarhi village in Hathras district. He had gone there to meet family members of victim who was subjected to brutality and subsequently died in a Delhi hospital sparking national outrage.
“We have nothing against state police but would not spare chief minister Yogi Adityanath for the lathicharge. The centre is introducing one scheme after another but these aren’t really helping the poor,” alleged Jayant Chaudhary.
Jayant Chaudhary also warned against the communal divide and wondered if anyone had really benefitted through the ‘atmanirbhar’ package announced by the Prime Minister. He also accused the BJP government of conspiring to sell the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and for moving towards privatisation of railways.
He also claimed that the new farm laws would end the arrangement of ‘mandi’ (market) where farmers visit to sell their produce. “BJP government is trying to fool the farmers and is concealing clauses harmful to them in the new farm laws. We are together on issue of ousting the BJP from power.” said Dharmendra Yadav of SP.
