Dist admn issues guidelines for Dussehra, Durga Puja
NO KIOSKS, FOOD STALLS OR VENDORS WILL BE ALLOWED OUTSIDE DURGA PUJA PANDALS.
District magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami has issued guidelines for Dussehra and Durga Puja in view of Covid-19 threat, on Thursday. At a meeting held here this evening, the DM said that guidelines will be strictly followed during the festival.
Heavy crowds should be avoided during Durga Puja and separate entry and exit points should be made at pandals. The organisers should ensure that all guidelines are followed and precautionary measures are taken during the Puja. No kiosks, food stalls or vendors will be allowed outside Durga Puja pandals.
The district magistrate also asked officials to conduct meetings with members of different Ramleela committees and ensure that all precautions and guidelines are followed during Ramleelas to keep the threat of Coronavirus at bay.
The DM further instructed officials to focus on rural areas, where controlling crowds is a big challenge, especially during ‘Ravan Dahan’, when a big crowd assembles. Instructions were also given for immersion of idols. The place for immersion should be decided beforehand and arrangements of light and cleanliness should be ensured. Police should ensure that the immersion takes place by evening. SSP Sarvshrestha Tripathi instructed police officials to make security arrangements during the festival and identify spots where untoward incidents have taken place earlier.
