PETROL PUMP SECURITY GUARD SHOT DEAD IN GHAZIPUR

- letters@htlive.com :

A private security guard of a petrol pump was allegedly shot dead and two others injured after an altercation at the petrol pump in Devchandpur village under Saidpur police of Ghazipur district late on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.

Confirming the incident, SP, Ghazipur, Omprakash Singh, who himself inspected the spot, said various police teams had been formed to ensure the arrest of the accused. “Raids are being conducted and all the accused will be arrested soon,” the SP added.

As per another cop, seven persons on two bikes reached the petrol pump. After taking petrol, they told the guard identified as Tribhuvan Singh, 55, not to show them his gun to them.

This led to an altercation during which one of the assailants Sunny alias Karamveer Singh, who is a history sheeter, prompted one of his aides whose identity could not be established to shoot at the guard.

In the firing, Tribhuvan Singh and another guard Shivmurat Singh, 45, were injured. They also hit another unidentified person present there with pistol butts resulting in minor injuries to him, police said. The assailants fled after committing the crime. The police said both were taken to Varanasi where doctors declared Tribhuvan Singh brought dead while the other injured person was undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, petrol pump operator Ajay Pandey has filed a complaint against 11 persons, including Sunny, in this connection. “A case has been registered against them under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code and further investigation is on,” added the officer.
