Capacity building has led to 1.25 crore tests in UP: Yogi
Chief minister asks for maintaining special vigil in Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi districts
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the state government was consistently building and strengthening the capacity for Covid-19 testing and this had resulted in a total of 1.25 crore tests having been conducted in Uttar Pradesh so far.
Yogi was reviewing the Covid-19 situation at a high-level meeting at his Lok Bhawan office here. He said one crore Covid-19 tests had been conducted by September 30. Since then, the total number of Covid-19 tests had increased by 25 lakh in the past 15 days in the state, he added.
He also said there should be no laxity in taking precautions against Covid-19. He asked for maintaining special vigil in Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi districts, adding that surveillance systems should be strengthened.
Yogi asked for a consistent increase in the number of ICU beds in the state. He also said surplus availability of medicines and other necessary medical equipment should be ensured.
Stating that the maximum number of persons should benefit from Pradhan Mantri Swa Nidhi Yojana, he also said the urban development department should convene a special meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee.
Paddy procurement centres should run effectively for the benefit of farmers, he added. He also said that equipment to measure humidity should be arranged to ensure that the farmers did not face any difficulty.
