91.78% candidates clear UPSEE

A total of 91.78% candidates passed the UP State Entrance Examinatio­n (SEE) with Sanyam Saxena from Moradabad district securing the first rank among the aspirants for the B Tech course, scoring 560 out of 600 marks.

Among girls, Anushka Tyagi of Ghaziabad district topped with 84% marks in the entrance exam for the B Tech course.

The results were announced by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) on Thursday. UPSEE is the gateway to 755 engineerin­g, pharmacy and management colleges across Uttar Pradesh.

This is the last year in which admission in B Tech courses is being done by UPSEE. From next year, admission in the B Tech courses will be done by the Joint Entrance Examinatio­n (JEE) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency, said AKTU vice chancellor Vinay Kumar Pathak. This year, a total of 1,60,610 candidates were registered, 1,34,050 appeared and 1,23,027 passed the UPSEE exam. Of these, 31,614 candidates are female, 91,411 male and there are two transgende­rs.

A total of 74,973 candidates appeared for the B Tech courses, out of which 69,793 (93.09%) passed. For B Pharma, 2,0634 candidates appeared, and 1,6711 (80.99%) of the aspirants passed the exam.

As many as 2,723 candidates took the entrance exam for the B Arch course and 2695 (98.97%) passed. For MBA, 7,926 candidates appeared and 7,855 (99.10%) passed the examinatio­n. For MCA, 3,548 took the exam and 3,529 (99.46%) passed.

This year, a total of 1,35,793 seats were open for admission to various courses, out of which 73,151 seats were for B Tech, 24,523 seats for B Pharma and 25,562 seats for MBA.

Riddhi Singhal from Muzaffarna­gar district bagged the first position in UPSEE 2020 examinatio­n for the B Pharma course. She scored 512 out of 600 marks. For B Arch, Ayushi Patwari of Delhi secured the first rank with 79.67% marks.

For MBA, Gaurav Govil from Lucknow district scored 336 out of 400 marks and secured the first rank in the entrance examinatio­n.

Harshit Omar from Kanpur Nagar district bagged the first position with 79% marks in entrance exam to MCA course.

Counsellin­g will begin from October 19. For the first time, AKTU has made a provision wherein students may check the result from chat bot with their registered mobile number.

Candidates who have taken the UPSEE exam can check their results either on the official website at upsee.nic.in or through AKTU Whatsapp Chatbot at +91 5222336810.
