With the aim of spreading the message of fitness, The Centrum, an urban lifestyle club, is organising ‘Lucknow Run 2020’ on Sunday. The event is being organised virtually this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Giving this information, Sarvesh Goel, managing partner of The Centrum, said Indian Olympic athlete Sudha Singh; double gold medal winner in World Police Games, Khushboo Gupta; long-distance cross country national champion Kavita Yadav and long-distance junior national champion will take part in the event. In this virtual edition, participants will have the advantage to complete the run anytime between 6 am and 6 pm within the safe premises of their homes, terraces, nearby grounds or parks.
“Participants in the timed categories of 21.097 km and 10 km must record their data through a specified mobile application and then upload it on Lucknow Run website for verification,” Goel said. “For the participants of 5 km and 3 km categories, no data is to be recorded or verified as it is a fun run. After completing the category wise distance, every participant must upload their selfie on Lucknow Run’s website,” he added.
“Since it is a virtual event, runners can participate in it from anywhere. In Lucknow, the running hotspots are Rajajipuram Chauraha, Gomti River Front and Kukrail picnic spot,” Goel said. “After verification of data, participants may download their respective certificates from the event’s website directly,” he said.
