Lucknow cases rise after a dip; UP Covid count reaches 4,81,863

After a dip on October 27, Lucknow is showing an upward trend in the number of daily Covid cases. On Saturday, the state capital reported 274 cases, even as the state Covid count reached 4,81,863 with 1,822 fresh cases reported on Saturday. The state-wide death toll due to the disease reached 7,025 with 21 fresh fatalities.

According to data, on October 27, Lucknow had reported 186 fresh cases, but the next day (on October 28) the state capital reported 294 fresh cases and on October 29 there were 218 cases, on October 30 there were 266 fresh cases. Doctors say the rising trend may continue, and have thus cautioned people.

The case positivity rate in Lucknow has come down in October to 4.8%. It was around 11% in August and about 9% in September. The overall case positivity rate in Lucknow is 7.8%. Till now, 63,262 cases including 878

deaths have been reported and over 8,55,000 samples tested in the state capital.

“A considerable fall in fresh cases was recorded in the state and state capital as well after September 18, but the number has not gone too low, and neither has Covid-19 been eliminated, where people can relax,” said IMA (Lucknow) former president PK Gupta.

Nagar and Aliganj are reporting maximum cases since over past one month,” said Association of International Doctors secretarygeneral Abhishek Shukla. Indira Nagar reported 25 cases, Aliganj 22, Gomti Nagar 28, Alambagh 12, Rae Bareli Road 23, Madiaon 10, Chowk 12, Jankipuram 15, Ashiana 11, Talkatora 10, Hazratganj 10. In all, 297 patients got discharged while samples of 7,535 people were taken under contact tracing exercise.
