CM for fresh strategy to control Covid-19 in Lko
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked for a fresh strategy for effective control on Covid-19 in the state capital. He also expressed satisfaction over the state crossing the 1.5 crore mark in the number of Covid tests since the onset of the pandemic.
Focusing more on Lucknow at the Covid and unlock review meeting held at his official residence here, Yogi said: “At the same time do anti-larvae sprays and fogging regularly coupled with cleanliness drives to keep dengue and other communicable diseases in check. Undertake sanitization exercises with utmost caution and continue public awareness. Use print and electronic media effectively for spreading awareness among people about Covid prevention.”
The chief minister emphasised that highest level of alertness and precaution were necessary to contain Covid spread. “It is good that UP has done 1.5 crore Covid tests so far which is the highest in the country among all states.”
He said: “Given the ongoing festival season, it is all the more important to be extra alert for containment of the pandemic. Make sure that the Covid safety protocols are followed, as this is the only way to prevent the spread of the disease till a vaccine or medicine comes in. Promote mask-wearing, handwashing, hand sanitizations etc.”
Among those present at the meeting were medical education minister Suresh Khanna, minister of state for health Atul Garg, chief secretary RK Tiwari and several other top officers engaged in Covid containment and unlock management.
