Lko sees dip in daily Covid count; recovery rate 93.69%

LUCKNOW: Lucknow saw a dip in the daily cases count with 220 people testing positive for Covid on Monday as compared to 253 the previous day.

The death toll due to the virus in the state rose to 7,076 after 25 more people succumbed to the disease, while 1,788 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 4,85,609, according to the health department.

During the day, 249 patients were discharged from hospitals. Lucknow saw 186 fresh cases on October 27, 294 the next day, 218 on October 29, 266 on October 30, 274 cases on October 31 and 253 fresh cases on November 1, according to the data.

So far, Lucknow had reported 63,744 cases with a positivity rate of 7.30%.

These included 59,727 patients discharged from hospitals and 889 deaths.

Samples of 7,403 people were taken under the contact-tracing exercise while fresh cases were reported from Gomti Nagar 28, Indira Nagar 28, Vikas Nagar 10, Alambagh 10, Rae Bareli road 19, Madiaon 11, Chinhat 12, Jankipuram 11, Chowk 10 and Talkatora 12.

“The recovery rate in Lucknow is 93.69%, which is more than 86.62%, recorded a month ago on October 1,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Associatio­n of Internatio­nal Doctors. The number of patients who opted for home isolation in Lucknow was 47,384.

“Lucknow has the opportunit­y to bring down the case count. But people are moving out without masks and not following social distancing at market places, particular­ly in Old City areas, which is playing spoilsport,” said Dr Sandeep Kapoor, director, Healthcity hospital.

Lucknow logged 220 fresh cases, Kanpur 49, Prayagraj 74, Gorakhpur 41, Ghaziabad 142, Gautam Buddh Nagar 158 and Meerut 146. Lucknow and Meerut reported three deaths each, Prayagraj and Varanasi two each, Kanpur and Gorakhpur one death each, according to the data from the health department.
