The Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) semester exam question papers of Mathematics and Social Studies went viral on social media right before the start of the exams on Friday. Amidst claims that the question paper along with the answers were made available to select candidates for as low as Rs 500, the Exam Regulatory Authority, UP, has taken note of the reported leak of the question paper.

On Friday, DElEd second semester exams of different batches of Mathematics were scheduled from noon to 1pm and that of social studies was scheduled from 2pm to 4pm. As per reports, the question paper of Mathematics went viral on WhatsApp groups at around 11.28am and that of Social Studies at around 1.28pm in Prayagraj.

Many candidates claimed that after the exam, when they compared the question papers viral on social media, they found it the same as the question papers that was handed to them inside the examination hall.

UP Exam Regulatory Authority secretary Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi also did not rule out a possible leak. He said that the incident was being looked into and further comments would be possible only later.

Around 4 lakh DElEd trainees are appearing in semester exams across the state from October 30 and the exams are set to continue till November 11. On November 4, a brother-sister duo was nabbed for cheating using a mobile phone at Government Intermediate College, Prayagraj and booked for using unfair means.
