PSYCHOPATH ARRESTED, POLICE CLAIM TO CRACK RECENT BLIND MURDER CASES
PRAYAGRAJ: Kydganj police arrested an alleged psycho killer and claimed to have cracked three cases of sensational murders in the district that took place in the past couple of weeks. Police claimed that the accused was mentally disturbed and the weapon used by him to carry out the murders had been recovered.
Among his victims was a nonagenarian mother of a former corporator who had gone to take bath at the Sangam.
SSP Sarvshrestha Tripathi said the accused identified as Ramesh Pasi, 30, aka doctor was arrested near Chaukhandi Railway Bridge on Tuesday. Police took the help of psychologists to quiz the accused. His interrogation revealed that tragic events in his life had turned him violent, police said. A native of Laundkala village in Lalapur area of trans-Yamuna, Ramesh used to attack people after finding them alone and kill them brutally. Ramesh’s mother Ramkali married another man after his father’s death in his childhood. Ramesh married Aarti and had a six years old daughter. However, Aarti too left him and started living with his step brother Binda, police said. These betrayals led to Ramesh hating people, police said.
On November 5, Ramesh attacked 90-years-old Ramsingari Devi at Parade Ground while she was going to Sangam to take bath. Ramesh beheaded the aged woman and fled to Shankargarh. On November 11, Ramesh attacked and killed 16-year-old Dinesh Adivasi while he was relieving himself in the forest in Kachari village of Shankargarh. Earlier, on November 10, Ramesh murdered an unidentified person near Bardewan Ashram in the same area. Ramesh then took Dinesh’s mobile and returned to Parade Ground. Cops took help of mobile surveillance to trace Ramesh.
SSP said that ‘darati’ (sharp edged agriculture tool) used in killing the aged woman has been recovered from the spot where Ramesh committed the heinous crime.
