PRAYAGRAJ : A man and his 5-year-old son were found murdered inside their house in Chayal area of Kaushambi district on Friday morning. The crime was discovered when villagers happened to chance upon two freshly dug graves inside the house and called in the police. The man’s wife has been detained for questioning, while her brother-in-law (sister’s husband), who is the prime suspect, is at large. The incident involves sorcery along with illicit relations angle, police said.

Bodies of Vakeel aka Naushe, 34 and his son, 5-year-old Arman, residents of Chayal Kasba under Pipri police station, were found lying in one of the rooms, while Naushe’s wife, Gulnaz, was found in a semi-conscious state. SP Kaushambi Abhinandan reached the spot and the field unit and dog squad were called in to assist investigations and collect samples. The SP said that marks of a sharp-edged weapon were found on Naushe’s body, while strangulation marks were apparent on Arman’s neck. However, the exact circumstances of their deaths would be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem examination report. Primary questioning of relatives and locals revealed that Gulnaz’s brother-in-law was a frequent visitor to their house and was seen there on Thursday night as well. Locals told the police that Naushe used to work as tailor and had returned from a Gulf country some years back. They heard loud noises from his house late on Thursday night and became suspicious when they saw two freshly dug graves in their house on Friday morning, following which they informed the police.
