Neighbour’s house damaged during demolition of Dilip Mishra’s house

PRAYAGRAJ: The demolition drive at former block chairman and history sheeter Dilip Mish ra’s house at Mahuari village on Tuesday evening witnessed dramatic scenes after Mishra’s neighbours created a ruckus claiming their house too was damaged during the exercise.

They claimed that during demolition at Mishra’s place debris also fell on their building leading to extensive damage.

Mishra’s neighbours created a ruckus claiming they were forced to spend the night outside in tents.

They claimed that three rooms of their 16-room house were completely damaged while cracks had developed in the walls of other rooms.

Prayagraj Developmen­t Authority officials said the damaged rooms will be repaired by the department. According to reports, gangster Dilip Mishra’s house was demolished using a JCB on Tuesday evening when the debris fell on the terrace of the adjacent ancestral house belonging to Ashish Singh and his brother Sunil causing damage to the structure.

Sunil later said their house was constructe­d many years back. He said apart from the damage to the structure, household goods in the rooms were also buried under the debris and got damaged.

Luckily there was no one was in the rooms as the house had been evacuated as a precaution­ary measure in wake of the demolition of the adjacent building. Sunil said their family which included women and children were forced to stay in the open as they were afraid of going inside the house and entering the rooms. SHO industrial area Chandrabha­n Singh admitted that house of Mishra’s neighbours was damaged. The PDA officials have promised to compensate the damage.
