PRAYAGRAJ EXP FIRST 24 LHB COACH TRAIN TO RUN AT 130 KMPH

PRAYAGRAJ : The 02417/18 Prayagraj-New Delhi Special Train (Prayagraj Express), the flagship train of North Central Railway (NCR), became the first Indian Railways’ train with 24 Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, to operate at a speed of 130 kmph on Wednesday, NCR officials said.

Besides this pair of trains, eight additional pairs of special trains are also being speeded up to 130 Kmph for full or part of their journey over NCR, they added.

Introduced on July 16, 1984, Prayagraj Express has been providing quality journey experience and has achieved many milestones in the last four decades of its operation.

NCR chief public relations officer Ajeet Kumar Singh said that this important achievemen­t would not have been possible without the relentless and dedicated efforts of maintenanc­e and operating personnel. To mark their contributi­on, a special felicitati­on-cum-encouragem­ent programme was organised at the Prayagraj Junction station on Wednesday.

Prior to the departure of 02417 Prayagraj- New Delhi special, North Central Railway (NCR) general manager Rajiv Chaudhry felicitate­d the crew, maintenanc­e, commercial, and security staff of the first 130 Kmph run of this prestigiou­s train.

Those felicitate­d included Loco Pilot Md Arsad Khan, Co-Loco Pilot of the train Anil Kumar Tiwari, Guard Arvind Tiwari, train captain PP Pandey, onboard C&W technician Dev Dutt Soni and RPF Head Constable Nityanand Rai, CPRO Singh said.

During this event the GM also released animation character ‘Gappu Bhaiya’-based video spot for public awareness on Covid-19.

Following its release, it will now be shared among rail users and public at large using all social and electronic media platforms and digital displays available at stations over NCR, he explained.

Besides the general manager (GM) and Prayagraj DRM Mohit Chandra, this event was attended by principal heads of the department of NCR and other officials from Prayagraj Division and North Central Railway’s HQ office.
