Set up 100-bed Covid, trauma centre near Yamuna Expressway, says CM

Yogi says medical testing for Covid-19 should be maintained and enough RTPCR and rapid antigen tests should be done every day

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked for setting up a 100-bed Covid and trauma centre near Yamuna Expressway.

Yogi said this at a high-level Covid and unlock review meeting with the top officers’ team engaged in Covid management.

Yogi said that providing quality medical facilities to people was among state government’s top priorities and asked officers for an effective system for Covid-19 safety and treatment.

Yogi said that Covid hospital should have all systems and supplies well maintained including the supply of medicines, equipment, and medical oxygen. He said specialist doctors should regularly take rounds of the Covid wards.

Regarding safety, Yogi said that people should be made aware of Covid safety and protection through public address systems and other mass media. “The state government was effectivel­y working on Covid control and treatment and for giving factual informatio­n to people, there must be regular media briefings,” he said.

Yogi said that medical testing for Covid should be continuous­ly maintained and enough RTPCR and rapid antigen tests should be done each day. Integrated command and control centres in all districts must work with utmost efficiency.

“All the newly establishe­d medical colleges must have enough doctors and constructi­on of sanctioned medical colleges should be expedited. To speed up the process, both technical and financial bids should be invited simultaneo­usly. Set up a 100-bed Covid and trauma centre near Yamuna Expressway,” Yogi said according to a government press release.
