Better living condition for AU hostellers is new VC’s priority
The new VC is also likely to make major reshuffle on administrative posts in the coming days.
PRAYAGRAJ: New Allahabad University (AU) vice chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava, has instructed university officials to revamp the living conditions at all the hostels of AU.
Tuesday was the new VC’s first day in office. The new VC is also likely to make major reshuffle on administrative posts in the coming days.
“Students are an essential part of the university system and we want to assure our hostel inmates, both boys and girls, to have a comfortable place to stay. For this, making their hostels better is among our top priority. They would be provided with best of the amenities and their hostels would be revamped so that they feel comfortable in their stay away from home”, said Prof Srivastava. She said she would be making surprise inspections to make an independent assessment of the situation. She also said that the students should have knowledge of at least four languages. On effective implementation of the new education policy, teaching of German and French language will also be started in the English department. I will try to ensure that that every student knows English and Sanskrit languages,” she added.
Besides, revamping the hostels, the new VC has also instructed the authorities concerned to revamp the facilities of the AU guest house.
“This is one place which is like ‘showcase’ of the entire university to our outside guests and I have instructed to revamp the facilities at the varsity guest house, including the security and ideal living conditions, in line with Covid-19 protocol”, she said.
