Now, focused sampling of marriage hall staff and caterers

UP RECORDS 29 MORE COVID DEATHS, 1,703 FRESH CASES; RECOVERY RATE 94.23 %

LUCKNOW : Focused sampling of marriage hall/banquet hall staff, caterers of wedding functions and flower and light decoration vendors in all districts will be done from December 1 to 3, said officials.

“The government has directed to start a special drive for collection of samples of band players, tent house labourers and flower decorators like the focused sample collection of taxi drivers, labourers in sweet shops, restaurants and street vendors between October 29 and November 12, in which 12,990 people tested positive,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary.

He said, “Focused testing helped identify Covid patients in crowded places hence controlling the spread of infection.”

With 1,703 fresh Covid cases, UP’s caseload reached 5,45,545 on Tuesday, while 29 more deaths pushed the toll to 7,788.

“A total of 1,43,787 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, of which 1,703 tested positive. So far, 194466550 samples have been tested in the state, out of which 5,45,545 have tested positive,” added Prasad.

At present, there were 23,670 active corona cases in the state, of which 11,025 patients were in home isolation , while 2,357 were undergoing treatment in private hospitals. The rest were in government hospitals.

During the last 24 hours, 2,059 people had recovered from Covid while 5,14,087 people had so far defeated corona in the state, bringing the recovery rate to 94.23 % in UP. The recovery rate of the state was at par with any other state in the country
