‘Mera Covid Kendra-Citizen’ app launched

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched the ‘Mera Covid Kendra-Citizen’ app, which would help locate Covid testing centres within 5 kms of default vicinity.

Addressing the function, the CM said, “Two-crore covid tests is an achievemen­t in a state like UP. We started with 72 tests a day on March 23 and now we test between 1.5 lakh to 1.75 lakh samples per day, of which 40% are RT PCR.”

The app can be downloaded in a smart phone from the Google Play Store.It will tell the location of a Covid-19 testing centres within the radius of 5 kms besides giving informatio­n about all the testing centres in the district. “We will certainly win our ongoing battle against Covid-19 by remaining cautious and vigilant. UP is conducting the highest number of Covid-19 tests in the country. From World Health Organisati­on to NITI Ayog, UP’s policies have been appreciate­d by all,” Yogi said.

“At present, there are details of 1260 free Covid-19 test centres available on this app. Those who do not have a smart phone can visit the website of the health department www.dgmhup.gov.in and see the list of the testing centres,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical and health.

The CM said that the state also succeeded in protecting the livelihood of the people in the Covid-19 times.” If anyone does not have a pre-notion, they will feel good about the results. Lucknow has 24 Covid testing centres run by medical health department.
