Cantt area people on top in following Covid protocols
After being pulled up by the high court, police have launched a rigorous drive to make people follow Covid-19 protocols
DURING LAST ONE MONTH, CANTT POLICE HAVE TAKEN ACTION ONLY AGAINST 620 PEOPLE
PRAYAGRAJ : Residents of Cantonment area are leading others in following Covid curb guidelines while those living in old city area are least bothered about their safety, reveals the data regarding police action taken against the violators of Covid protocols in Sangam city.
As per records of November month, Cantonment police realised penalty from minimum number of people for not wearing masks while Kotwali police were on top in taking action against the violators.
During last one month, Cantonment police have taken action only against 620 people for not wearing masks while Kotwali police fined 2,005 violators. Colonelganj police also took action against 1,896 people while 1393 violators were penalised in
Kareli area. After being pulled up by the high court, police have launched a rigorous drive to make people follow Covid-19 protocols and wear masks in public places.
Barricades have been put up at crossings and those found not wearing masks are stopped at checkpoints. Moreover, cops on motorcycles are also patrolling the streets and lanes in densely populated areas.
IG KP Singh said police are also taking help of drone cameras to keep tabs on unnecessary assembly of people and take action against those found violating Covid-19 protocols.
Station house officer, Cantonment police, Neeraj Walia said police remain active at all checkpoints in the area. The number of violators of Covid-19 protocol are less in Cantonment area as people here are taking all precautions to stay safe.
