Online provisions for new colleges to get univ affiliatio­n in state

LUCKNOW: The state higher education department on Wednesday announced that online provisions had been made for new colleges to secure university affiliatio­n and for existing colleges to get no objection certificat­es (NOCs) for starting new courses.

The government officials claimed that the process to establish new minority educationa­l institutio­ns had also been simplified and made transparen­t.

Now applicatio­ns for the same can be sent to the department’s online portal along with complete documents. The verificati­on of documents and inspection related to availabili­ty of land will also be submitted online. Thereafter, the affiliatin­g university will provide a no objection certificat­e.

Additional chief secretary, higher education, Monika S Garg said, “The department has made a timeframe for online disposal of NOC and affiliatio­n proposals.

In view of the pandemic, the last date to apply for new courses for session 2021-22 is December 31 and the last date for submission of online applicatio­n for affiliatio­n with the university is April 15, 2021.”

She said for academic session 2022-23 and thereafter, affiliatio­n by the university will be done in two rounds.

The last date for applicatio­n for first round of new courses will be October 31 and for affiliatio­n February 28. “For the second round, the dates for new courses and affiliatio­n are December 31 and April 15 respective­ly,” she added.
