Form teams for focused testing: Yogi
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday asked officials to ensure all the precautions were taken against Covid-19 in view of the emergence of a new strain of the coronavirus in the United Kingdom (UK) and some other countries.
Teams should be constituted for focused testing work and those coming back to the state from UK, France and other countries with cases of the new virus strain should be quarantined and tested, he said. Adityanath was reviewing the Covid-19 situation at a high-level meeting at his Lok Bhawan office here.
He said the respective nodal officers should visit the districts attached to them and monitor the work being done there to check the spread of Covid-19. The nodal officers should make their report available to the state government by Tuesday evening, he added.
He asked for maintaining effective arrangements for contact tracing and carrying out surveillance work. Covid-19 hospitals should remain up to the mark, the chief minister said, adding that senior doctors should take rounds of wards.
Sufficient availability and backup of medicines, medical equipment and oxygen should be maintained in the hospitals, the chief minister directed the officials.
Asking for optimising the testing work in the state, he said people should be educated about measures for protection from Covid-19 and the public address system should be used for the purpose. He also said Covid-19 vaccination work should be carried out in a time bound manner when the vaccine becomes available.
