Develop Sevapuri block in Kashi a model for country: Niti Aayog chief
VARANASI: Niti Aayog chairman Amitabh Kant instructed officials to ensure full implementation of all social welfare and other schemes in Sevapuri development block, in Varanasi on Saturday.
Kant said full implementation of those schemes would make Sevapuri an ideal development block that could be presented as a model before the nation.
“It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream to ensure 100 percent saturation (implementation of all the schemes) and to bring behavioral change among the locals of the development block which could then be presented as a model for implementation in other developmental blocks of the country,” Kant said.
Kant congratulated district magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma and chief development officer Madhusudan Hulgi for successful implementation of different schemes in the villages in Sevapuri
developmental block area.
He instructed the district administration officials to hold reasoning workshops in association with the BHU experts for bringing behavioral changes among the locals of the development block in next six months.
He said development must be ensured with the participation of people of each section of the society. Rural development secretary NN Sinha laid emphasis on bringing outcome and monitoring of implementation process and progress. Volunteers and people of panchayati raj organisation should come together to create a mass movement and bring about a behavioral change.
During the meeting, DM Kaushal Raj Sharma gave a detailed presentation about works done by various departments in Sevapuri development block and informed about the works done to improve health facilities, sanitation, nutrition and education in the villages and efforts being made to make Sevapuri an ideal block.
