FIR of fraud against land mafia, his aides

LUCKNOW: Another FIR was registered against listed land mafia Durga Yadav and his aides at Cantonment police station on Thursday for cheating people in the name of providing residentia­l plots, said police officials here on Sunday.

They said Yadav had multiple criminal cases of land grabbing, murder and attempt to murder against him in the past one decade. Inspector, Cantonment police station, MK Singh said police were further probing the matter after registerin­g an FIR of fraud and criminal breach of trust against Durga Yadav and four others.

In the recent FIR, one Ashish Kumar had accused Durga Yadav and his aides Chandrika Rawat, his two sons Amit and Suraj Rawat and Sandeep Yadav for duping him of ₹5 lakh in the name of providing residentia­l plot around three years ago.

The complainan­t mentioned in the FIR that the accused people had promised to provide 500 square feet of land near Nilmatha market but they had neither provided him the plot nor returned his money. He said Durga Yadav and his aides had threatened him with dire consequenc­es when he demanded his money back.

The complainan­t said Durga Yadav had a long criminal history and that he was declared land mafia by the district administra­tion as he had been involved in grabbing several government and private lands. He alleged that Yadav was also convicted in a murder case and was presently out on bail.

He said Yadav was also key accused in the murder of a Dalit farmer in October 2015. He alleged that the farmer was murdered so that his land at prime location worth several crore rupees could be grabbed.
