ACS reviews preparations for Covid-free Magh Mela
PRAYAGRAJ : Additional chief secretary (medical health and family welfare) Amit Mohan Prasad visited the Magh Mela2021 area and held a meeting with officials.
He reviewed the preparations being made for compliance of Covid-19 protocol during the annual fair on Monday.
Prasad also reviewed the preparations for Covid-19 vaccination. He directed the health department officials that all necessary arrangements for vaccination should be ensured in advance so that there is no problem at the time of vaccination.
He instructed the CMO to train the employees of the health department by forming teams at the block level and administering vaccination.
He said that on arrival of the vaccine, necessary action should be taken to ensure the provision of CCTV camera at the storage site, and where the vaccination will take place.
At the meeting, chief medical officer (CMO), Prabhakar Rai, spoke about the health department’s compliance with the Covid-19 protocol in view of organising the Magh Mela.
He said that arrangements for 40 ambulances have been made at the fair, out of which some ambulances will be especially for Covid-19 patients.
He added that in connection with Covid-19, separate arrangements were being ensured in Dufferin and SRN hospitals, so that persons infected with Covid-19 can be admitted to the designated hospitals in the fair area. The CMO also said that 16 entry points would come up in the mela area so that crowd is evenly distributed.
“Proper arrangement of thermal screening would be ensured at the entry points, so that people coming to the mela area can be checked. Arrangements are being ensured for sanitation too,” he added.
District magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami informed the ACS that extensive arrangements were being made in the Mela area to comply with the protocol of Covid-19.
“Action is being taken about the system of contacting institutions and preparing a list of people coming to Kalpavas and uploading them on the portal. He also informed that arrangements were being made to send the list related to Kalpavasis from the institutions to the respective districts, so that the system of testing of such people can be ensured by the health department of the respective districts,” Goswami said.
The DM also said that mobile vans were being arranged for testing in the fair area.
