Dry run for vaccination drive conducted in Lko
LUCKNOW: The dry run to assess the readiness of the mechanism laid out for the Covid vaccination drive was conducted successfully in Lucknow on Wednesday.
“Around 10 minutes is being taken for matching the ID, examining and vaccinating the beneficiary. If 30 minutes of post vaccination waiting time is added, one beneficiary might take up to 45 minutes at a vaccination site,” said Dr MK Singh, in-charge of vaccination in Lucknow. The first dry run session was conducted at Chinhat and Gosainganj CHCs. The health department is now planning another round of dry run that will include the transport of the vaccine from the cold storage point to the vaccination of the beneficiary.
The first dry run session was conducted at Chinhat and Gosainganj community health centres (CHCs). The health department is now planning another round of dry run that will include the transport of the vaccine from the cold storage point to the vaccination of the beneficiary. This will be done in the first week of January.
During the dry run, time taken for each step is recorded by the observers and consistency of vaccination in case of multiple vaccination (of beneficiaries) is evaluated and any lapse is worked upon.
The state capital would have over 50 vaccination sites and over 730 vaccinators to cover the list of beneficiaries, starting with about 55,000 healthcare workers.
“The logistics, updating beneficiary data and all other work to be done during vaccination will be covered under the dry run,” said Singh.
