CM cautions officers against new virus strain

LUCKNOW : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the officers to remain extra vigilant in view of the new strain of coronaviru­s found in some districts. Effective measures should be taken to control Covid- 19 in the state, he said.

The chief minister reviewed the unlock system at a high level meeting held in Lok Bhawan. “The state government is committed to protect people from coronaviru­s infection. Effective measures should be taken for treatment and prevention of Covid,” he said.

“To break the chain of coronaviru­s infection, sample test should be conducted in full capacity. Sufficient number of RT-PCR and rapid antigen tests should be done daily. Arrangemen­ts should be made on priority to equip the state laboratori­es with necessary equipment to test the new variant of the virus. Contact tracing and surveillan­ce work should be carried out effectivel­y,” he said.

The integrated command and control center should remain active in the districts and DMs and chief medical officers should hold meeting in Covid hospitals in the morning, he said adding, in the evening the meetings should be held in integrated command and control centers to review action taken and prepare the next strategy, he said.

An awareness programme should be organized to make the people aware about the measures for protection from Covid. Public address systems should be installed at the public places, the CM said.

He said Arogya Melas would commence from January 10 next year.

“The mela will be organized at all rural and urban primary health centers across the state and people should be enlightene­d about the Covid guidelines and protection from the infection. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana should be widely publicized, the CM said.

Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Health Atul Garg and senior government officers were present in the meeting.
