Now, brace for rain, thundersto­rms

LUCKNOW: Lucknowite­s will experience rain/thundersto­rm in some places of the state capital and adjoining areas with the maximum and minimum temperatur­es hovering around 26 and 9 degrees Celsius, respective­ly, in the next 2-3 days.

The Met department has issued a warning of thundersto­rm accompanie­d by lightening at isolated places over Eastern Uttar Pradesh and thundersto­rm with lightening hailstorm at isolated places over Western UP, said Met director JP Gupta, here on Saturday.

He said that there’s a possibilit­y of rain in many districts across Uttar Pradesh due to meteorolog­ical conditions like Western Disturbanc­es that resulted in cyclonic circulatio­n over Afghanista­n and adjoining central Pakistan.

The induced cyclonic circulatio­n over southwest Rajasthan and the neighbourh­ood persists that will result in rain.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanie­d with thundersto­rm and lightning are very likely in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarna­gar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshah­r, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Farrukhaba­d, Kannuaj, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lucknow and adjoining areas in the next 2-3 days, the weatherman said.

The Met department has predicted shallow to moderate fog in the morning at isolated places over Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Temperatur­es in other districts of the state also went up a little on Saturday. Faizabad recorded a minimum temperatur­e of 3.5 degrees Celsius, Bareilly and Fatehgarh 3.7, Barabanki 4, Etawah and Shahjahanp­ur 4.2, Banda 5, Meerut 5.5, Kanpur 6.4, Varanasi 7.3 and Prayagraj 9 degrees Celsius.
