EFFORTS BEGIN TO FILL VACANT NON- TEACHING POSTS IN STATE VARSITIES

-

PRAYAGRAJ : Soon the problem of non-teaching staff shortage members in all state universities of Uttar Pradesh, including Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University (PRSU) and Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) of Prayagraj, would become a thing of the past.

To fill up these vacant positions, Raj Bhawan has sent a letter to vice-chancellors of all state universities, seeking details of vacant posts. Following this, the recruitment process will be started through UPSSSC, Lucknow. The move comes at a time when there is a huge shortage of staff in all the state universities of the state. In such a situation, the routine working at the respective universities is hampered from time to time.

To overcome the shortage of non-teaching staff, contractual staff is being hired through the agency. The respective university administrations are taking work from these employees and even confidential work is being done by contractual employees, claim varsity officials.

Now the special officer of the office of chancellor of the state universities, Governor Anandiben Patel has sent a letter to the vice-chancellors of all the state universities and has sought for the details of non-academic vacancies. “We have been asked to give the details in the set format by the Governor’s office and the same is being expedited from our side as the shortage of nonteaching positions in the state university is really hampering the working,” said VC, UPRTOU Prof KN Singh.
