Vaccination centres cut down in Prayagraj from 20 to 6
PRAYAGRAJ: The Covid-19 vaccination drive in the district, set to start from Saturday, will now be held at six centres instead of earlier planned 20, said a health department official.
“The step has been taken on the order of the state government to ensure that every aspect of vaccination of health workers is undertaken sans any compromise on the quality of the entire process,” said CMO-Prayagraj Dr Prabhakar Rai.
The centres where vaccination would take place are Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Motilal Nehru (Colvin) Divisional Hospital and Dufferin Hospital besides Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital in urban area and at community health centres of Phulpur and Soraon in rural areas, he added.
All centers with one designated nodal officer each will have only one session of vaccination on the first day with 100 people being vaccinated in each session.
“Vaccination will be undertaken from 10am to 5 pm and all information related to vaccination will be uploaded on the Co-Win portal, he said.
Also, there will be live webcast of the entire process from all centers and the process being monitored in real time from Delhi and Lucknow.
Senior government officials would also be able to communicate with any of the centres and enquire about any aspect of the vaccination, said Dr Rahul Singh, Covid vaccination nodal officer of the district.
District officials said when and at how many centres the vaccination would take place on the second day is yet to be communicated by the government.
Meanwhile, the decision to cut down on the centres has forced district health officials to revise the list of beneficiaries. While earlier, the plan was to administer vaccine to 2,000 health workers now it stands at just 600.
As per the government’s decision, the beneficiaries would need to produce any photo identity card to gain entry in to the centre.
