Ensure first shot to all health workers in 3 weeks, says CM
LUCKNOW : Stating that Covid-19 vaccination will take place for two days—Thursday and Friday—every week in the state, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said there was a need to maintain a strict vigil against Covid-19 despite availability of the vaccine.
The CM further said Covid-19 vaccination should be carried out in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines and sequence of priority. He said preparations for second phase of Covid-19 vaccination should begin well in time. He said first phase of Covid-19 vaccination of all the health workers should be completed in the next three weeks.
Yogi said the exercise to give the second dose of the vaccine to those inoculated in first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive should begin on February 15. Yogi was reviewing the Covid-19 situation at a high-level meeting at his Lok Bhawan office here. He said the Covid-19 testing played an important role in checking the spread of the pandemic. The CM said contact tracing and surveillance work should also be done effectively. He said at least 1.5 lakh Covid-19 tests should be carried out in the state every day.
He said appropriate arrangements for rapid antigen test should be made at Aarogya Melas. He said availability and backup of necessary medicines and medical equipment should be ensured at all the Covid hospitals. Yogi said necessary arrangements should also be made for fire safety at all the government and private hospitals. The CM said information about Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan be given to people at Arogya Melas. He said the people should be educated about the Covid-19.HTC
