‘Send fund utilisation certificates in time’
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday called all the ministers and ministers of state (independent charge) for a meeting to review the performance of their departments and the utilisation of budgetary allocations ahead of the state budget for 2021-2022 likely to be presented in the state legislature in February.
Ministers and ministers of state (independent charge) of about 44 departments having annual budget of Rs 500 crore and above attended the meeting convened to expedite release of sanctions and utilisation of the budget for 2020-2021.
Adityanath had taken strong exception to release of only about 71% sanctions and 59% utilisation of funds by departments so far. He called the ministers, ministers of state (independent charge) for the meeting to ensure that the funds earmarked for development work were utilised.
He asked departments to ensure that the departments implementing the centrally sponsored schemes should send the utilisation certificates well in time so that the central share was released to them.
He also directed the medical education department to work on expediting the laying of foundation of new medical colleges in 13 districts. The state government proposes to set up a medical college in every district of UP. He asked for expeditious implementation of Smart City Yojana and completion of Saryu canal and Madhya Ganga projects.
