‘Under Yogi, Uttar Pradesh is now Uttam Pradesh’

VARANASI: In less than four years of Yogi Adityanath led BJP government the state has set new records of developmen­t so much so that Uttar Pradesh as become Uttam Pradesh, said BJP MLA Saurabh Srivastava.

He was addressing the gathering at a function held to mark Uttar Pradesh Diwas and National Girl Child Day at Trade Facilitati­on Centre in Varanasi on Sunday.

Srivastava claimed corruption has come to an end because the government has ensured strict action against the criminals.

Azgara MLA Kailash Sonkar said that it was very auspicious to celebrate Uttar Pradesh Diwas along with National Girl Child Day. “The society in which women are respected develops very fast,” he said.

Sonkar laid emphasis on one nation, one education and said that education was the ‘Brahmashtr­a’ for women empowermen­t.

District magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma said that UP was full of cultural diversity. Now onwards, UP day will be celebrated in district Varanasi every year.

Sharma said that various welfare and developmen­tal schemes are being extended to the people in the last row of society. He said that women empowermen­t drive was also underway.

On the occasion of UP Day, sanction letter to the beneficiar­ies under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Scheme, citation to the officers and personnel of the Airport Authority to help people reach their respective home safe, and acceptance letter of grant money to 5 women group of NRLM, ration card to many people were given.

Several meritoriou­s girls were also honoured at the event, which also saw several cultural programmes were presented by students of different schools and cultural organisati­ons.
