Health workers who interacted with PM to dispel myths on vaccine

VARANASI : Five health workers whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with regarding Covid vaccinatio­n drive in Varanasi will be made brand ambassador of Covid vaccinatio­n to motivate health workers for getting vaccinated and dispel myths regarding the vaccine.

PM had interacted with five health workers, including chief medical superinten­dent (CMS), Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Varanasi, Dr V Shukla, lab Technician R Rai, chief matron, Government Woman Hospital, Kabir Chaura, Pushpa Devi, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) Rani Kunwar Srivastava, and

ANM, community health centre, Srinkhala Chauhan.

During the interactio­n on January 16 the PM had asked them if the Covid vaccinatio­n drive was going smoothly in Varanasi. The health officials had thanked the PM for getting Covid vaccinatio­n started and had said the vaccine was completely safe.

Additional chief medical officer, Varanasi, Dr NP Singh said, “Five health workers whom PM Modi interacted regarding Covid vaccinatio­n drive in Varanasi will be made brand ambassador to motivate the health workers for getting vaccinated. At the same time, slogans to remove myths regarding the vaccine will be written on the walls at various locations in the city and also in rural pockets.”

Video messages of these brand ambassador­s will be recorded and circulated on WhatsAppto dispel myths on vaccine. Their speeches would also be recorded at different vaccinatio­n centres in Varanasi.

Health workers, who have already been vaccinated, have also been asked to create awareness among those who are reluctant to get vaccinated, officials said.

The drive to motivate the health workers will be carried out across the district. In fact, some health workers on their own have already started spreading awareness about the vaccine, officials said.
