It will certainly boost vaccination percentage,” said Association of International Doctors secretary-general Abhishek Shukla.

He said now when dates are given much in advance, the maximum number of beneficiaries shall report.

All beneficiaries are sent an SMS a day before their vaccination is scheduled.

The vaccination of frontline workers will start from February 5, the day when the firstdose round for health workers is slated to conclude. Frontline workers (policemen and other forces) will get their first dose on February 11 when 10% of the listed frontline workers will be given the jab.

On February 12 another 30%, 18th another 30% and on 22nd there will be a mop up round for them to cover all those who missed the jab in previous rounds.

They shall get the second dose on March 5, 16, 12, 18 and on March 22nd there will be a mop-up round for the second dose. The second dose for frontline workers, scheduled for March 11, was shifted to March 16 due to Shivratri falling on March 11.

“Special arrangements should be made to ensure smooth vaccination on February 15, when the mop-up round for first dose of health workers and second dose for some is slated,” the circular by the additional chief secretary to all district magistrates and chief medical officers read.
