Food products unit owner’s body found hanging from tree
LUCKNOW : Body of a food products manufacturing unit owner, Avinash Kumar Singh, 38, who was missing since Saturday night, was found hanging from a tree in Daroga Kheda locality near Amati industrial area in the city on Sunday, said police officials.
Small Industries and Manufacturers Association and the victim’s family alleged foul play, demanding a thorough investigation in the case to unravel the mystery behind his death. Police said the body had been sent for post-mortem examination while the forensic team and dog squad were called to examine the spot to have a clear picture about the incident.
Shailendra Srivastava, president of Small Industries and Manufacturers Association said the association had written to the commissioner of police (CP) DK Thakur demanding stern action in the matter. He said the association believed that it was a case of murder and the police should investigate it properly.
Former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav tweeted about the incident, targeting the state government and the police over the “deteriorating law and order.”
The CP said the FIR regarding the victim’s disappearance was registered immediately when the association and his family members reached the PGI police station area on Saturday and probe was on.
He said the body was found hanging on Sunday morning while his two mobile phones were in a car found parked at some distance from the spot.
