Now, LMC to start paid consumer services to augment income

LUCKNOW : With the aim of exploring possibilities of increasing its income, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is all set to start paid consumer services for the common man.

The services, which include cleaning of plots, picking up building trash, supplying water, sanitisation, tree trimming, mobile toilets for functions, fogging inside compounds of houses with a fee and GST, are expected to start from first week of February.

“All these services will be paid services and will be available at the click of mouse. In all, we have selected 11 type of services which would be provided by LMC. There was a demand for starting such services for a long time. We are already cleaning the plots, collecting building material and are sending mobile toilets for functions. We are also sanitising premises, supplying water tankers but now we are going to charge for these services,” said municipal commissioner Ajay Dwivedi.

However, these services could be booked online or at mobile number 6389300431. The payment for the services sought could be done either online or manually. Once the services start, booking would be available during office hours.

The rates for picking up building trash has been fixed at Rs 1200 per truck while the rate for filling a plot with building material is Rs 1200 per truck.

The residents booking water tanker will have to dole out Rs 500 per tanker of 4,000 litres. sewage treatment plant-treated water would be available for Rs 1,000 for a 12,000-litre tanker. For cleaning of dirty vacant plot, the LMC will charge Rs 1500 for a plot of 2000 sq ft.

Mobile toilet of 10 seats for function would be available at Rs 2,500 per day while the rate of five-minute fogging has been fixed at Rs 635.
