Minister to launch paid civic services for Lucknowite­s today

LUCKNOW : The Lucknow Municipal Corporatio­n (LMC) is all set to start paid civic services for people here from Friday.

Minister of urban developmen­t Ashutosh Tandon will launch paid consumer services like cleaning of plots, picking up building trash, supplying water, sanitisati­on, tree trimming, mobile toilets for functions, fogging inside compounds of houses.

“There will be 11 types of services which could be availed at a cost and at a click of mouse. These services could be booked online or at mobile number 6389300431. The payment for the services could be done either online or manually,” said municipal commission­er Ajay Dwivedi.

“Urban Developmen­t minister Ashutosh Tandon will dedicate a beautified Kudia Ghat to Lucknowite­s. He will also start paid civic services on the occasion,” Dwivedi said.

Notices to plot owners Miffed over vacant plots being used as dump yards that serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes, the LMC served notices to 120 plot owners and asked them to construct an 8-ft boundary wall on their plots after cleaning them or else the land would be auctioned, said an official of the civic body. “Out of these 120 plots, 40 are in Rajeev Gandhi II ward while 80 are in Chinhat ward. As per the provisions of LMC Act, 1959 if the owners fail to construct boundary walls after cleaning their plots the land would be auctioned by LMC,” municipal health officer Dr SK Rawat said.
