PURVANCHAL E-WAY SECTION PASSING THROUGH LUCKNOW TO BE COMPLETED THIS YEAR

LUCKNOW: The 17.7km long section of Purvanchal Expressway that passes through the city limits would be ready by the end of this year, said district magistrate Abhishek Prakash here on Thursday. In an inspection to review the progress of on this section, the DM checked all critical points so that it may be completed in a time-bound manner.

“Being a prime project, Purvanchal Expressway is our priority. Of the total e-way, a section of 17.7km passes through the state capital, hence we are making all possible efforts to complete it in a time-bound manner. It is expected that the work would be completed by the end of this year,” said the DM.

Inspection of the Purvanchal expressway, which is also the UP government’s flagship project, began in the morning when the DM reached to inspect Sultanpur railway track rail overbridge (ROB) that is one of the critical points of the Purvanchal Expressway.

“We have directed the constructi­on agencies to ensure the completion of work within the time limit. The team is working round the clock,” he added. he 341 km, six-lane highway that can be extended to eight lanes is said to be the longest in the country. The expressway would start from Lucknow, connecting Sultanpur, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh and Mau and terminate at Ghazipur. Also, the expressway would have a 3.2km airstrip at Sultanpur, similar to that on Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
