Criminal’s property worth ₹21 million attached, another externed

LUCKNOW: Police on Thursday attached property worth Rs 21 million of dreaded criminal with around a dozen cases against him in various police stations of Lucknow.

In another action the district police externed an accused booked under Goonda act from the district for six months.

“We have attached property of one Dileep Kumar Yadav (28), a dreaded criminal of Gomti Nagar extension in Lucknow. He is a member of a gang that is involved in extortion, land grabbing, violence and other crimes. He is wanted in many cases and is absconding,” Lucknow Commission­er of Police DK Thakur said. Police said Yadav has cases of fraud, violence, land grabbing, crime against people of SC/ST community registered against him in Gomti Nagar extension, Gomti Nagar and Chinhat police stations. The accused was also booked in gangster act. In many of these cases police has filed chargeshee­t against him in the court, officials said.

“The attachment of property was done to cut off the financial support of the accused so that he could be arrested,” police said.

In another action the district police externed an accused booked under Goonda act from the district for six months. The accused Ikrar Hussain (20) has cases against him in Gomti Nagar and Indira Nagar police station. The accused was externed for a period of six months from the district in order to mitigate any possibilit­y of him causing any law and order situation, police said.
