Meanwhile, state president of BKU’s youth wing, Ch Digamber Singh claimed that they have received inputs that anti-social elements may unleash violence during the ‘Chakka Jam’ in these two states and to avoid such situation it has been decided to stall the programme.

Farmers leaders said they don’t want to give any chance to anti-social elements to hatch conspiracy like what they did on Republic Day in Delhi to malign the image of farmers and disgrace their peaceful protest.

Media incharge of BKU, Dharmendra Malik, in the communique said instead of ‘Chakka Jam’ farmers will now hand over their memorandums to district magistrates and other officials in the two states.

The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha had given a call of 3-hour (12 noon to 3 pm) Chakka Jam in the country on Saturday to support farmers’ movement and to protest the ban on internet at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur border where farmers have been protesting against the three contentious farm bills for over past two months.

Rajpal: Foreign artistes’ intervention unwanted

PRAYAGRAJ: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav expressed concern over the farmers’ agitation and said the government and the farmers should have a dialogue to sort out the issues.

“If both keep their tough stance aside, I am ready to act as a mediator to solve the issues. They should talk to sort out the problem,” said Rajpal, who took a holy dip at Sangam and visited Beni Madhav Temple and Bade Hanuman Temple here on Friday.

He was staying at the camp of spiritual leader Dev Prabhakar Shastri ‘Daddaji’.

Rajpal also expressed anger over the remarks of foreign artistes on the farmers’ issue and said that their intervention was unwanted.

He clarified that despite floating his own party, he had no intention of contesting polls over the next 12 years.
